Guess how much we raised from all the calendar sales last year? Read on to find out!
Before you jump down the page, do you know anyone who loves nature and would be interested in supporting us with a donation? A few pounds or more, it will all mount up and help. Perhaps you or some friends you know? We are also seeking environmental companies that offer grants to enhance nature, specifically to promote and provide habitats for beautiful Barn Owls.

The Owl Man, as I’ve come to be known, is truly touched and grateful for the overwhelming support from the amazing people who have bought calendars, donated money or provided homes for our free Barn Owl Nest Boxes. The joy and excitement was truly immeasurable when all 2024 calendars were sold! An especially heartwarming moment was receiving a message from Sue, who had already purchased 4 calendars, enquiring about the remaining stock. To our astonishment, she secured the final 5 calendars, leaving us completely sold out.

I hope that everyone who bought a calendar is enjoying my beautiful pictures. Ours proudly adorns the kitchen wall, with the close-up from March being a personal favourite of mine. I’d love to hear about your favourites too – it’s always delightful to know which images resonate with others.

The proceeds from the calendar sales have been nothing short of amazing, amounting to a remarkable £2,250 from the sale of all 250 calendars. This means we can potentially procure 26 more boxes and cover the travel expenses for Simon, who graciously assists in erecting the boxes.

Over the course of 2023 and 2024, we will have put up a total of 46 boxes in the north part of Norfolk, providing vital spaces for Barn Owls to nest and nurture their precious eggs. The immense happiness this brings us cannot be overstated, and our deepest gratitude goes out to everyone who bought a calendar or offered a location for a box.

Since the start of this year, I have been diligently scouting locations in readiness for the first batch of boxes to be put up. We plan to install 7 boxes in April, followed by a second batch in July, and another in November. All of these efforts are aimed at ensuring that the Barn Owls born in 2024, as well as the older owls in the area, have suitable roosting sites as they seek their own nesting places.

Moving on, we do not want to stop this project, so we are now looking for funding sources for 2025. As we embark on this next phase, it’s crucial to craft a compelling funding proposal that articulates the significance and potential impact of our project. Highlighting the value and feasibility of our initiative, as well as demonstrating a thorough understanding of the targeted funding sources, will be pivotal in securing the necessary support. Additionally, considering diverse funding avenues such as grants and sponsorships can enhance the financial sustainability of the project. By adopting a strategic and well-researched approach, we can effectively pursue the funding necessary to propel our project forward in 2025.
